What a great day for a late afternoon hike on the Nordic Trail in the Southern Kettle Morain. We got to say hi to our old friend Walnut, accidentally stumbled upon a geocache, and stopped by East Troy Brewing for a beer to go.

Here is my Hand Sanitizer recipe.

What you’ll need:

• 2/3 cup of isopropyl or rubbing alcohol (99% alcohol)

• 1/3 cup of aloe vera (99% aloe)

• 10 drops of essential oil. If you want.

Directions:

• Pour all ingredients into a stainless steel bowl.

• Mix with a whisk to turn the sanitizer into a gel.

• Pour the into an empty mason jar.

The Fight For Clean Air run is in the books. I ran up Wisconsin’s tallest building today. 47 fights of stairs to the top of the US BANK building in 12:40!!! Thanks to everyone donated.

Maxine and I spent the day in the kitchen cleaning and cooking. And our broccoli & spinach lasagna was too good not to share photos of it!!!

Today’s workout was a 30 minute HIIT workout.

5 Min warm-up

20 min HIIT.

1 min sprint, 1 min rest

1 min low gear high cadence, 1 min rest

1 min high gear, 1 min rest

1 min climb “add a gear or 2 every 10 scends” 1 min rest

repeat.

5 min cooldown

With less than one month until the Fight For Air Climb, I took my training indoors. Today was the first time I ran straight up all 25 flights for steps of the Bay View Terrace.
